South Africa and Brazil have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing their Strategic Partnership during an engagement between South African Consul-General Ms R. Lebelo and Ambassador Nelson Tabajara de Oliveira, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representation Office in São Paulo.
The meeting formed part of ongoing diplomatic engagements aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries and strengthening the longstanding relationship between South Africa and Brazil.
Consul-General Lebelo Welcomed in São Paulo
Consul-General Lebelo was received by Ambassador Nelson Tabajara de Oliveira at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representation Office in São Paulo on 11 September.
Ambassador Tabajara warmly welcomed Consul-General Lebelo to Brazil and wished her every success during her tour of duty. He also assured her of the continued support of his office during her tenure.
In his remarks, Ambassador Tabajara highlighted the excellent bilateral relations between South Africa and Brazil, underscoring the strong ties and shared commitment that continue to underpin cooperation between the two countries.

During the interaction, Consul-General Lebelo reflected on the outcomes of the 8th South Africa-Brazil Joint Commission, which was recently held in Pretoria and co-chaired at Ministerial level.

The discussions in São Paulo reaffirmed the shared desire to build on the outcomes of the Joint Commission and further strengthen the relationship between South Africa and Brazil.
