Diplomacy South Africa collaborated with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to organise a series of Information Sessions hosted at the department’s premises. These sessions provided a valuable platform for engaging with members of the diplomatic corps accredited to South Africa, highlighting key economic opportunities within various districts and promoting investment, trade, and partnerships.
The initiative underscores South Africa’s commitment to economic diplomacy, fostering stronger ties between local economic development agencies and the international community to drive inclusive growth and job creation.
Key Information Sessions:
iLembe Enterprise Information Session– 24 June 2025: This session was hosted in partnership with Enterprise iLembe, the Economic Development Agency for the iLembe District Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal. It was led by the agency’s CEO, supported by officials from the district municipality. The presentation focused on investment prospects, tourism potential, and business opportunities in the region, known for its coastal appeal, agricultural strengths, and growing industrial sectors.








uMgungundlovu Economic Development Agency Information Session– 24 July 2025: This session featured the uMgungundlovu Economic Development Agency (UMEDA), serving the uMgungundlovu District Municipality. It was led by the Mayor of the District Municipality, with the main presentation delivered by representatives from the development agency. Discussions centred on economic prospects in the Midlands region, including opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, education, and infrastructure development around Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas.








Defence Infrastructure Resilience & Protection Briefing – 31 March 2026: Hosted at Mochochonono Group in collaboration with Diplomacy South Africa and DIRCO, this engagement brought together ambassadors, Defence Attachés, and diplomats for presentations and live demonstrations on protective systems, including a guided tour showcasing bullet-resistant products, manufacturing operations, and security innovation capabilities.




Zambia Trade and Investment Forum– 06 May 2026: The Zambia Trade and Investment Forum brought together government leaders, investors, and businesses from South Africa and Zambia. Discussions focused on investment opportunities across mining, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, logistics, and financial services ahead of IZIC 2026.








These sessions exemplify collaborative efforts to showcase South Africa’s diverse regional economies to the diplomatic community, encouraging foreign direct investment and international cooperation for mutual benefit.
