Australia, New Zealand and South Africa have reaffirmed their shared interest in supporting a strong and effective Antarctic Treaty System, with discussions focusing on opportunities for greater cooperation and engagement in Antarctic affairs.
Australian High Commissioner to South Africa Tegan Brink met with Minister David Maynier, alongside New Zealand’s diplomatic representative in Pretoria, to discuss the three countries’ commitment to the Antarctic Treaty System and their shared interests as countries with important connections to the Antarctic region.
The engagement highlighted the importance of cooperation between the three countries in facilitating access to and engagement with Antarctica.
Strengthening the Antarctic Treaty System
