Letters of Credence Handed Over: Bozell III Begins Duties in South Africa

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) yesterday formally received copies of Letters of Credence from the newly appointed United States Ambassador to South Africa, H.E. L. Brent Bozell III.
Acting Chief of State Protocol, Deputy Director-General Clayson Monyela, accepted the diplomatic documents on behalf of the South African government during a ceremony at the DIRCO headquarters in Pretoria.
DIRCO noted that the accreditation marks an important milestone, with Ambassador Bozell now positioned to strengthen diplomatic engagement between the two nations amid ongoing bilateral exchanges on trade, security, and global issues.
The presentation of Letters of Credence is the final formal step that allows an ambassador to assume full diplomatic functions. Ambassador Bozell now joins a distinguished line of US envoys tasked with advancing trade, investment, security cooperation and people-to-people ties between Washington and Pretoria.
