
Diplomatic Community and Yoga Practitioners Gather Ahead of International Day of Yoga 2026
PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA – Members of the International Diplomatic Spouses Association (IDSA) and representatives from various yoga institutes attended the International Day of Yoga Curtain Raiser event held at India House on 4 June 2026.
The event formed part of the build-up to the International Day of Yoga, which is celebrated globally on 21 June each year. Bringing together members of the diplomatic community and yoga practitioners, the gathering highlighted the importance of wellness, mindfulness and cultural exchange.

The occasion was graced by Mrs Rochelle Botes, spouse of South Africa’s Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, His Excellency Mr Alvin Botes. Her attendance underscored the significance of the event and the growing interest in wellness initiatives that foster greater people-to-people engagement and international understanding.
Members of the diplomatic community joined yoga enthusiasts and wellness advocates in celebrating the values of health, harmony and holistic well-being that yoga promotes.
