The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Pretoria had the distinct honour of hosting Honourable Simon Mulamba Mputu, a National Member of Parliament of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on 07 April 2026 for a significant courtesy visit aimed at reinforcing diplomatic and institutional collaboration.

During the visit, Hon. Mputu was warmly received by His Excellency Ambassador John Nyakeru, the DRC’s diplomatic representative to the South Africa. The meeting provided an important platform for dialogue on matters of shared national and regional interest.

Strengthening DRC–South Africa Bilateral Relations

Discussions during the engagement centred on enhancing bilateral relations between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Africa. Both parties explored opportunities to deepen cooperation across political, economic, and institutional sectors, reflecting the growing importance of strategic partnerships within the African continent.
