Kenya is strengthening its diplomatic and commercial engagement in South Africa, with a recent meeting between the Kenyan High Commission in Pretoria and a senior representative from Kenya Airways highlighting growing cooperation in the aviation sector.
High Commissioner Jane Ndurumo hosted a courtesy call by Daniel Salaton, Cargo Commercial and Operations Manager of Kenya Airways in South Africa.
The discussions focused on enhancing air connectivity and expanding cargo operations between the two countries, reflecting the strategic importance of aviation in facilitating trade and economic exchange. Kenya Airways, a key player in regional and international transport, continues to play a vital role in linking African markets and supporting intra-African trade.
Officials noted that strengthening logistics and cargo capacity is essential for boosting commerce, particularly under frameworks such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Improved connectivity between Kenya and South Africa is expected to unlock new opportunities for businesses and investors on both sides.
