Malaysian High Commissioner Hosts World Quran Hour- Fostering Faith in Ramadan

Malaysian High Commissioner to South Africa, YBhg. Dato’ Yubazlan Yusof, hosted the World #QuranHour programme with the Malaysian diaspora in Pretoria on 11 March 2026, corresponding to 21 Ramadan 1447H.

The event brought together members of the Malaysian community to collectively recite and memorise Surah Al-Muzzammil, the 73rd chapter of the Quran. This Meccan surah, revealed early in the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) mission, urges devotion through night prayers, patience in worship, and drawing closer to Allah SWT by embracing the Quran’s teachings in daily life. Participants reflected on its messages of perseverance, spiritual discipline, and resilience amid challenges.

Organised by the Malaysian High Commission in Pretoria, the programme forms part of ongoing initiatives to promote Quran recitation and engagement among Malaysians living in South Africa. It also fostered stronger communal bonds in the sacred month of Ramadan, emphasising unity, reflection, and spiritual growth.

High Commissioner Dato’ Yubazlan Yusof highlighted the event as a meaningful way to strengthen ties within the community while honouring the blessed atmosphere of Ramadan. Such gatherings underscore Malaysia’s commitment to nurturing Islamic values abroad.
