Cape Town Meeting Boosts Tanzanian Community Ties
Tanzania’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Ambassador James G. Bwana, convened a productive meeting on February 15, 2026, with leaders of the Tanzanian communities in Cape Town, including the Tanzania Community Cape Town (TCC) and Tanzania Association in Cape Town (TAC).
Discussions focused on advancements in preparations for the upcoming general elections of community leaders, the long-term future of Tanzanians living in South Africa, and enhanced consular services for 2026. Participants also addressed various challenges faced by the diaspora and outlined resolutions to strengthen ties with the homeland.
The meeting concluded with ambitious plans, including the launch of the “Narudi Nyumbani Kiroho Safi” (Return Home with a Clean Spirit) campaign, aimed at encouraging diaspora engagement and repatriation.
