Pretoria Talks: Somali FM Thanks SA for Support, Pledges Stronger Bilateral Ties

Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Honourable Abdisalaam Abdi Ali, held bilateral discussions with South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Ronald Lamola, in Pretoria today.
The meeting centred on bolstering the longstanding relationship between the two nations and broadening cooperation in key sectors, including trade, education, and health. Minister Abdi Ali expressed Somalia’s deep gratitude for South Africa’s consistent support for Somalia’s independence, national unity, and security.
Both ministers are committed to enhancing collaboration and forging closer ties, emphasising the adoption of practical measures to yield concrete outcomes. They underscored that a strengthened partnership would drive meaningful development benefiting citizens of both countries.
The Somali delegation included Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Isack, Somalia’s envoy to South Africa, who accompanied the minister.
