South African proptech entrepreneur Nomfundo Makhoba, Founder and CEO of Property Fusion, emerged as a standout winner at the Female Funding Fit Accelerator Demo Day.

Makhoba was awarded €10,000 in catalytic funding to accelerate the growth of her technology-driven property solutions business. Property Fusion addresses longstanding challenges in the real estate sector through innovative tech-enabled approaches, positioning it as a promising player in South Africa’s proptech landscape.

The event, organised by WomHub in partnership with the Embassy of France in South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi, capped a six-month accelerator programme designed to empower women founders building scalable, technology-enabled ventures and preparing them for investment. Timed to align with International Women’s Day reflections, the Demo Day showcased the talent and resilience of South African women entrepreneurs.

Several other participants received valuable opportunities to advance their journeys. Florence Mohlala of Madiri Business Enterprise, Sibongiseni Tunzelana of F.L.I. Global, and Theresa Michael of Afrika Tikkun Bambanani EdTech each earned tickets to the 5th annual Women in Tech Global Summit in Cape Town from 28–30 April 2026—a premier gathering expected to draw global leaders focused on inclusive innovation.

Hanlie Wessels, Founder of Impact Business Development, was granted a fully funded trip to VivaTech in Paris (17–20 June 2026), one of Europe’s premier startup and tech events.

The initiative underscores the French Embassy’s commitment to feminist diplomacy and advancing women’s leadership in science, technology, and innovation.

All nine founders who pitched demonstrated the strength and diversity of South Africa’s innovation ecosystem, inspiring confidence in its future.
