South African Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Ntsiki Mashimbye, met with Ambassador Karim Sherif, Assistant Minister for African Affairs at Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, on 5 March in the New Administrative Capital.
The discussions centred on bolstering the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two African powerhouses, exploring avenues for deeper political, economic, and strategic cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration amid evolving continental dynamics, building on recent high-level engagements and shared priorities within the African Union and broader forums.
Ambassador Mashimbye was accompanied by Mr Muhammad Abdool, Counsellor: Political, and Mr Thabo Sanyane, First Secretary: Political, from the South African Embassy in Cairo. The meeting underscores the growing momentum in South Africa-Egypt relations, as the nations work toward elevating ties to a sustainable strategic partnership. Officials expressed optimism for tangible progress in upcoming joint initiatives.
