Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Thandi Moraka, held a courtesy meeting with a seven-member joint Government of Liberia and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) delegation in Pretoria on 1 September 2026.
The delegation was led by Hon. Hadja Mamaka Bility, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Without Portfolio of the Republic of Liberia.
The engagement provided an opportunity for South Africa and Liberia to strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchange views on areas of mutual interest.
Strengthening South Africa–Liberia Relations
The meeting highlighted the importance of continued engagement between South Africa and Liberia in strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.
Deputy Minister Moraka and the Liberian delegation exchanged perspectives on areas of mutual interest, providing an opportunity to identify issues of shared importance and avenues for closer cooperation between the two countries.
Such engagements contribute to maintaining strong diplomatic relations between African countries while creating platforms for dialogue on matters of common interest.
