Constructive Dialogue Advances Strategic Mining Ties Between South Africa and Mali
On 29 January 2026, Her Excellency Mrs Patience Masisi, South Africa’s Ambassador to Mali, led a high-level delegation to the headquarters of the Chamber of Mines of Mali for the third meeting focused on bolstering bilateral mining cooperation.
The session, attended by the Chamber’s President and several senior members, unfolded in a spirit of open and constructive exchanges. Discussions centred on deepening existing partnerships, identifying fresh investment prospects, and fostering strategic collaboration in the mining sector between the two African nations.
This latest engagement builds on ongoing diplomatic efforts to harness mutual strengths in mineral resources, supporting economic growth and sustainable development. South Africa’s advanced mining expertise and Mali’s rich deposits offer significant potential for joint ventures and technology transfer.
