Members of the Johannesburg Indian Women’s Association (JIWA), led by its President, Mrs Vibhuti, met with Consul General Shri S. Koventhan at the Consulate General of India in Johannesburg to brief him on the organisation’s activities and charitable initiatives.

The meeting provided an opportunity for JIWA representatives to engage with the Consul General and highlight the association’s ongoing work within the community, particularly its charity and social welfare activities.

JIWA plays a role in bringing members of the Indian community together through initiatives focused on community support, social engagement and charitable outreach. The association’s engagement with the Consulate reflects the importance of collaboration between community organisations and Indian diplomatic institutions in Johannesburg.

During the meeting, members shared information about the organisation’s activities and the various charitable efforts undertaken by JIWA. The engagement also highlighted the contribution of Indian women’s organisations to community development and social welfare in South Africa.

The meeting comes as community organisations continue to strengthen partnerships with diplomatic missions and contribute to people-to-people relations between India and South Africa.
