Haiti and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their interest in strengthening bilateral relations following a courtesy meeting between their ambassadors in South Africa.
H.E. Ambassador Jean Pillard of Haiti to South Africa paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Ambassador Faisal Alharbi of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the two diplomats held a warm and substantive exchange focused on bilateral relations and opportunities for closer cooperation.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss areas of shared interest and explore avenues for expanding dialogue and engagement between Haiti and Saudi Arabia.
Discussions on Saudi Vision 2030 and Future Cooperation
Among the issues discussed was Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious national transformation programme aimed at diversifying the Saudi economy, fostering investment, promoting innovation and strengthening international partnerships.
The discussion highlighted the potential relevance of Saudi Arabia’s development priorities to broader opportunities for international cooperation, particularly in areas where Haiti and Saudi Arabia may identify shared interests.
Ambassador Pillard and Ambassador Alharbi also exchanged views on Haiti’s Circle of Friends, an initiative aimed at strengthening international engagement and building greater support and cooperation around Haiti’s priorities.
Strengthening Haiti–Saudi Arabia Relations
