Zambia Prepares for Major Investment Summit with South African Collaboration

The Zambian High Commission in Pretoria is intensifying efforts to boost trade and investment links with South Africa, focusing on key sectors such as mining, manufacturing, transport, energy, and tourism.
On 16 January 2026, High Commissioner Ms Grace Mutembo met with Mr Mwani Mainga, Secretary in Mission, and Mr Mndeni Mthabela from Diplomacy South Africa to discuss collaborative strategies. The talks aimed at engaging South African businesses and private sector players to support Zambia’s economic goals.
A central focus is the second Invest in Zambia International Conference, scheduled for 15-17 July 2026 at the Kenneth Kaunda International Conference Centre in Lusaka. The event, themed “Positioning Zambia as a Leading Investment Destination in Africa,” will be inaugurated by President Hakainde Hichilema and seeks to attract global investors through partnerships and opportunities in priority sectors.
Proposed initiatives include another session to highlight Zambian prospects. The Zambian mission views South Africa as a vital partner for mutual growth and regional development.
