Denmark Strengthens Water Cooperation with South Africa as New Sector Counsellor Takes Office

The Embassy of Denmark in South Africa has welcomed Anne as its new Sector Counsellor on Water, bringing more than two decades of experience in water and environmental management to the country.

The Embassy of Denmark in South Africa has announced the arrival of Anne as its new Sector Counsellor on Water, marking another step in the strengthening of cooperation between Denmark and South Africa in the field of water management.

With extensive experience in water and environmental management, Anne will focus on supporting efforts to address water-related challenges in South Africa while contributing to the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two countries.

More than 20 years of water and environmental management experience

Anne brings a wealth of professional experience to her new position. She holds a degree in agricultural science and has more than 20 years of experience working with water and environmental management in Danish authorities.

Her international experience also includes previously serving as a Sector Counsellor on Water in China, as well as working in Bangladesh through the Danida Agricultural Sector Programme.

This combination of technical expertise and international experience positions her to contribute to cooperation around some of the complex water challenges facing South Africa.

Focus on South Africa’s water challenges

Speaking about her new position, Anne expressed her enthusiasm about beginning her work in South Africa and applying lessons from her previous experience in water management.

She said she is looking forward to contributing to efforts addressing water challenges in the country, while also strengthening the relationship between Denmark and South Africa.
