South Africa’s newly appointed High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique, Dr Johnny Pitswane, has formally begun his diplomatic mandate after presenting his Letters of Credence to Mozambique’s President, His Excellency Daniel Francisco Chapo.
The presentation took place on 12 August 2026, marking an important milestone in Dr Pitswane’s tenure as South Africa’s representative in Mozambique.
The credentials ceremony formally establishes the High Commissioner’s authority to represent South Africa in Mozambique and comes at a significant time for relations between the two neighbouring countries.
Strengthening South Africa–Mozambique relations
