The Cuban Embassy in South Africa participated a vibrant and politically charged gathering this week at the launch of the book “Tricontinental, Havana 1966,” reigniting conversations on international solidarity and the enduring struggles of the Global South.
The event brought together members of the International Peoples’ Assembly alongside South African activists, scholars, and supporters, creating a platform for reflection on historic and contemporary movements for liberation. Speakers delivered powerful messages highlighting the continued relevance of unity among developing nations in confronting inequality, imperialism, and economic marginalisation.
Central to the discussion was the legacy of the 1966 Tricontinental Conference in Havana, a defining moment that united revolutionary movements across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
