Pretoria Meeting Bolsters Somalia-Türkiye Cooperation on Security and Shared Interests
The Ambassador of Somalia to Southern Africa, H.E. Mohamed Sheikh Isack, held a productive meeting with Türkiye’s Ambassador to South Africa, H.E. Ms. Kezban Nilvana Darama Yıldırımgeç, at the Turkish Embassy.
The discussions centred on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye, grounded in mutual interests. Both ambassadors committed to sustained collaboration in support of their governments’ priorities.
Ambassador Isack expressed deep gratitude to the brotherly government of Türkiye for its unwavering assistance to Somalia’s people and administration, particularly its steadfast backing of Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and independence.
The envoys also engaged in in-depth talks on pressing political and security developments in the Horn of Africa and broader region, underscoring the strategic importance of their partnership amid evolving challenges.
This engagement reflects the deepening Somalia-Türkiye alliance, recently highlighted by the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
